Southern Baptist celebrates missions

Union Southern Baptist Church has invited the community to join in celebrating their California Mission Emphasis at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.
Refreshments will be served and an offering will be received.
California Southern Baptists take the month of September to focus on California as a mission field and cooperate through prayer and financial support to assist churches in sharing the gospel to make disciples and start new churches.
Union Southern Baptist Church is a new church that started in February and has received support directly from the California Mission Offering and the California Southern Baptist Convention is being sponsored by Red Bluff’s Antelope Home Fellowship Baptist Church.
This year’s theme for the California Mission Emphasis is “Water for a Thirsty Land — Church Starting.”
The church is asking those who attend to bring water, or drinks either in liquid form and or powder and tea. The church will donate these in the name of Jesus to a local organization that will distribute them to the needy to represent California’s spiritual need for living water.
Union Southern Baptist Church meets at the Red Bluff Union High School cafeteria, 1260 Union Road, at 9:30 a.m. Sundays for bible study and 11 a.m. for worship.
Information is available from Pastor Robert M. Wheatley at 209-0695.
