Smith to speak at Calvary Chapel

A visiting guest speaker, Pastor Chuck Smith, will be teaching at Calvary Chapel Red Bluff at 12375 Paskenta Road for both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services this Sunday.

Pastor Chuck Smith, as he is affectionately called by his congregation, was taught the scriptures from his youth as Timothy was. He has remained a student of the word of God, as well as being gifted by God as a teacher of the word. He has been given the ability to teach God's word in a simple, low-key, yet powerful manner that listeners of all ages can easily learn and apply to their daily lives. His teaching has inspired hundreds of young men to go into the ministry.

More than 30 years ago Smith felt the Lord calling him away from the church he was pastoring in Corona and move to Costa Mesa to begin the ministry of Calvary Chapel. What happened to this fellowship is a testimony to the miraculous ability of Jesus Christ to build His church in this 20th Century when a man is yielded to the leading of God.

Smith's radio ministry, "The Word For Today," is heard an hundreds stations around the country and through Calvary Satellite Network he is heard worldwide. Each week thousands of his taped Bible studies are sent all around the world to people studying the Word.
