First Christian Church of Corning: What we believe

First Christian Church of Corning, at 1421 Marin Street, in Corning has submitted a statement of beliefs to share with the community. It was written by the church pastor Rev. Richard Beach.
Who we are and what we believe: The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Corning was established over 100 years ago and like most Christians, we affirm that Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God and all persons are God's children.
We celebrate open communion: The Lord's supper or Communion is celebrated each week in worship, It is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
Freedom of belief: Disciples are called together around one essential of faith- belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Persons are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study and prayer, and are expected to extend that freedom to others."
What we offer: Worship Service: Sundays 11 a.m.; Prayer and praise, Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday School is taking the summer off but in the fall will begin at 10 a.m.; the very active Christian Women's Fellowship is also taking the summer off but will begin again in September."
